I had to get the transmission on my dump truck redone and decided to use them because I passed them in Concord so often. They rebuilt the transmission and did quite a bit of other work on my truck from the injector pump to ball joints. “I have a 2005 VW TDI Passat Wagon with 150k on it. The automatic transmission developed shifting problems (4th to 2nd downshift) issues that were becoming more frequent over time. My regular shop took a look at the error codes (reporting internal problems) and recommended a rebuild transmission replacement for $5k (!). I took it to AAMCO in Concord for a second opinion. They recommended two options, a rebuilt replacement (for about the same as my shop), or a rebuild of the existing transmission. The rebuild option would take longer, but assuming nothing was terribly broken internally, would be cheaper. I took the option of repairing the existing transmission. I was reluctant at first to trust these guys. I have been around engines all my life and am both a mechanical engineer and electrical engineer and don't suffer fools lighlty. If their answers did not jive with my own experiences, then I would not have continued the process. I interacted with Jeremy Martinson on this effort. Jeremy made some calls to his support techs and told me these transmissions are known for problems at about this mileage and that they have issues with the value body.”
