Chuck and Nikki Stasny,
Co-Owners
Married for nearly 35 years, Chuck and Nikki purchased
AAMCO to fulfill their dream of owning their own
business. Together, with skills in automotive repair,
management and accounting, Chuck and Nikki have
successfully served as AAMCO's leadership since 2001.
In 1975, with an associate degree in automotive
mechanics, Chuck accepted a position as a mechanic at
Dowell, an oil field service company. With a desire to
learn more, Chuck advanced in his career and by 2000, he
was the Engineering and Manufacturing Manager for
HydroChem Industrial Services and oversaw the operations
of nearly 60 nationwide company locations. Getting a
chance to utilize his business sense and skills in
automotive repair motivated Chuck to join the AAMCO
family. "I have seen so many auto repair shops," Chuck
said. "I wanted a chance to do it better." Active in the
community, Chuck serves on the boards of the Houston
Tennis Association and Houston Community College's
Automotive Technology.
The brains behind the business, Nikki oversees AAMCO's
bookkeeping, including payroll, income taxes and
accounts payable and receivable. "Realizing our dream to
own our own business, I took a class at Brazosport
Junior College called Record Keeping for a Small
Business," Nikki said. "That was many years ago!" Unable
to become a business owner at the time, Nikki continued
to enroll in courses that accelerated her knowledge of
accounting. With new-found skills and the love of
numbers, Nikki had no trouble finding employment at
local accounting firms until she and her husband
purchased AAMCO. When not at AAMCO, Nikki has fun sewing
and playing with her two granddaughters, Isabel and
Francesca.
Chuck and Nikki happily reside in Missouri City in a
house no longer occupied by their two grown daughters,
Danielle and Meredith.
Bill Jaquat, Service Manager
With more than 25 years of experience in customer
service, Bill describes himself as a "people person" and
you will see him greeting customers with a smile. After
studying business at Brazosport College, Bill entered
the sales force and has served as an account manager for
Ozarka and Coca-Cola. Prior to joining AAMCO in 2006,
Bill was a sales manager for Rain Soft. When not
interacting with customers, answering the phone or
overseeing the shop's daily operations, Bill is reading,
fishing, camping or spending time with his new wife,
Phyllis, and family. Bill has four children: Jenifer
(23), Jonathan (21), Amanda (18) and Sarah (8).
G.M. Khan, Mechanic
A native of Pakistan and certified to repair airplanes,
G.M. brings unique flair and expertise to AAMCO. While
attending Minnesota State University, he received his
Airframe and Power Plant License and for the past 20
years, has dedicated himself to auto mechanics. Since
August of 2004, G.M. has provided AAMCO's customers with
quality, trusted automotive repair. G.M. specializes in
all mechanical work, from repairing front ends to
replacing brakes. With his wife Rukshana of more than 20
years, G.M. has a 22-year-old son Umair who is attending
New York University's School of Business.
Russell Greenough,
Transmission Specialist
Following the footsteps of his grandfather, Russell
believes that he was “born into auto mechanics." On a
scholarship, Russell attended Lincoln Tech in New Jersey
to begin his career in auto mechanics. After four years
of repairing race engines, he unexpectedly fell into
transmission work and has continued as a transmission
specialist since 1990. Specializing in removing and
reinstalling transmissions, he is experienced and
qualified to repair both foreign and domestic vehicles,
and holds the ASE certification in transmission repair.
When not at work, Russell enjoys several hobbies,
including fishing, building model cars, collecting
baseball cards and playing video games with his three
children - Dylan (13), Nicholas (11) and Sarah (7) - and
his fiancée, Christine.
Basil Virappen, Mechanic
After repairing taxis for more than 20 years in New York
City, Basil brought his knowledge of automotive repair
to Texas. Before joining Houston AAMCO in 2006, Basil
worked at other general repair shops. As a mechanic,
Basil describes his specialty as “front-end alignment,
brakes, tune-ups, you name it!” Additionally, Basil has
completed Hunter front-end alignment training. When not
at work, Basil enjoys playing baseball and is active in
his church community. Basil and his wife, Bhagwattie,
have three sons: Sarwan (25), Ricky (17) and Haresh
(12).
